Kudos must go to our CPM / Bord Gáis Energy colleagues who on the Thursday of the warmest week of the year declined the allure of the beer gardens, instead festooned themselves in shorts and CPM logo T-shirts and volunteered their support to autism Ireland by participating in the annual Dublin staff relay race.
The Dublin Staff Relay is a 5 x 5km work team event involving businesses and organizations from the Greater Dublin area. The 2nd annual staging of this innovative event for staff teams took place in the Phoenix Park, May 24th 2012.
The team was made up of five esteemed members. Rebecca O’Hanlon, Barry Conlon, Mairead Stafford, Eimear McKenna and Karen Butler who completed the relay in an impressive 2 hours and 09 minutes. Barry had the right idea to go first and be back early before all the beer was guzzled. Good man Barry!
It was a fun filled charity race with a strong atmosphere of enjoyment and comradeship that attracted up to 2000 contestants and even brought out a few Celebrities with the likes of Keith Duffy and Paul McGrath who bestowed their presence upon the competition and were only too happy to pose for photos.
The contestants would like to thank their loyal colleagues for their support, Nicola and Tracey Curran, Carl Finnegan, Sophie O’Connor and Carla Lindsay, who gave us a great laugh when she fell off the park bench.
