CPM Ireland – Celebrating National Strawberry Week in Style!

It’s that time of year again…. And CPM Ireland in conjunction with Keelings, is getting ready to celebrate National Strawberry week in its customary flamboyant fashion. Our devoted teams of sampling and promotional staff are getting ready in true CPM-style to add a touch of panache to proceedings as they venture to a variety of Dublin events to promote Keelings tasty range of Strawberries this June Bank Holiday Weekend.

National Strawberry week runs all next week from the 4th to the 10th of June in Ireland and is a celebration of everyone’s favorite fruit, the Strawberry. Ireland’s climate means we have some of the world’s best strawberries. Although they are increasingly available year-round, Irish Strawberries are at their peak in Ireland in June, July and August, when they are most abundant and most delicious. These mouthwatering seed-studded red berries are now more accessible and affordable than ever and are still regarded as the ultimate summertime high.  From memories of happy childhoods spent stuffing your face in secret at the side of the road, to delicious deserts, perfect picnics and romantic endeavors, a large serving of delectable strawberries are the perfect accompaniment and long, lazy summer afternoons.

As a bonus, Strawberries are good for you!  They are particularly high in Vitamin C, a good source of folic acid and fiber, are fat-free and low in calories! Strawberries also contribute to your recommended ‘5 a day’ – who said being healthy can’t be pleasurable and even downright indulgent!  And if you needed any further reason to stock up on strawberries, strawberry juice combined with honey will calm sunburn when applied to the skin – the perfect remedy for Irish complexions suffering after-effects from our recent bout of sunshine.

Strawberries are the perfect treat to put a smile on your face this bank holiday weekend. Research has shown Strawberry lovers tend to be”health conscious, fun loving, intelligent and happy” while Non-strawberry lovers, are “weird, boring, stuffy–picky, fussy eaters who avoid healthy foods”.  So show your love and join our adorable lot in celebrating the scrumptious summer staple – the Strawberry!

Our colourful characters will be out in full force at the Bloom Festival in the Phoenix Park this weekend, from Friday – Monday June 1st-4th, providing oodles of free strawberries and plenty of giggles to lucky attendees.

You can catch our friendly bunch again at the Family Farm at Dublin Zoo on Thursday 7th of June where they will be distributing free samples of yummy Keelings Strawberries to anyone who pops over to say hello!

Finally, all next week our sampling staff will appear in major Irish supermarkets, providing tasty treats to delighted shoppers to promote Keelings Strawberries

Nothing says “Hello Summer” Quite like a mouthful of juicy strawberries   So lash on the sun cream, dig out the flip-flops (be sure to bring a brolly too – It’s a bank holiday weekend after all!) and flock to one of our sampling hotspots to join in the fun of National Strawberry week with CPM and Keelings!

CPM Five Golden Rules of Presentations

On the fifth day of Christmas,

CPM gave to me

Five golden rules (of presentations)

Presentations are usually part of the recruitment process for sales jobs and also quite common for other types of roles. Being able to present well is very important to succeed in most careers.

Presentations are critical moments of truth where we persuade potential employers  to hire us, new or existing clients to purchase products or services, or colleagues and managers to support our ideas and plans.

Rule #1: Don’t give your presentation tool centre stage. This is the biggest mistake that a presenter can make and it’s true whether you are using a presentation folder with slides, a Powerpoint presentation on a laptop or any other tool. A presentation tool is designed to enhance a presentation … not be the presentation. Never forget that you still need to be in centre stage and command your audience’s attention.

Rule #2: Rehearsing is essential if you want to make a presentation that connects with your audience. Memorise the first three things you are going to say, practise ‘spontaneous’ moments of humour and sweat the details. If you want to deliver a winning presentation preparation is key.

Rule #3: Know your audience. Do your research in advance of the presentation. Do your best to find out what makes them tick and gauge their knowledge of the subject. However don’t ever underestimate your audience’s intelligence.

Rule #4: Anticipate the five toughest questions you could get asked. Being prepared for these will give you confidence while you are presenting.

Rule #5: Finish the presentation with a call to action. You delivered the presentation for a reason. You want your audience to buy something if it is a sales pitch, you want them to hire you if it is in an interview, you want their approval or feedback if it is an internal company presentation. Essentially, you want them to do something and the best way to get it is to ask for it! You might not get a “yes” straight away but your audience will come away  from the presentation with a clear message.

During the presentation be sure to make good eye contact and gauge your audiences’ reactions. Be aware of your timing and be sure not to go over the allotted time. How annoyed would you be if you were to be cut short with the grand finale yet to be delivered?
